STAINLESS TEST PIPES

Stainless mandrel bent nd edit me. It's easy.

Stainless mandrel bent test pipes for 2004-2020 Titan/Armada 2wd and 4wd.  XD also avaiable.  Direct bolt on like stock.  CEL will be on with longtube headers.   NO cel with Vband headers.  These pipes will be raspy with certain mufflers.

RESONATED TEST PIPES

These test pipes B-Pipes are built like the OEM 04-06 2WD, just bigger and better. I use 2.25" or 2.5" stainless tubing and place a 12" Vibrant bottle resonator inline with an O2 sensor in stock location. These, along with the Ultraquiet resonator, will do a number on the CIS/rasp the VK56 is known for with headers.  CEL will be on with Longtubes.  No CEL with Vband headers

HEAVY METAL CATS

A more emission friendly cat that is OBD2 compliant.  These will help keep off the pesky CEL and bring overall volume some with long tube headers.  Not required to kill the CEL with Vband headers.  These cats are 400 CPI.

The Titan axle vent is known for sticking and can causing pressure build up. This can blow the axle seals or allow water intrusion. This mod is very popular and Cajun offers it in a kit to help with the hassle of rounding up the parts. Very easy to install in under 15 mins.

Cajun offers a 2.5" mandrel bent stainless steel Y-Pipe to get that upper RPM HP the Titan needs. I use the Vibrant merge with a 3"outlet and the famous laser cut flanges. Stainless band clamps provided. This Y-Pipe will let you customize to the muffler you want after the Y.

FAQ

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE  IN ALUMINIZED STEEL AND STAINLESS STEEL?

  • ​The main difference between the two is pricing and the outer shell of the metal.

  • Stainless Steel cost more than Aluminized Steel.

  • Stainless steel b-pipes look better and lasts longer than aluminized steel.

  • 409 stainless will surface rust but not rust through like aluminized steel.  

  • The aluminized steel has only a protective coating that, if scratched off, may rust.

  • Aluminized steel will last several years and probably as long as the truck will in non corrosive environments.

  • Stainless will be the choice of b-pipes for northern and salty environments.

  • My aluminized steel pipes are crush bent and the stainless steel pipes are mandrel bent.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CRUSH BENT AND MANDREL BENT?

  • Crush bent pipes are slightly narrowed at the bends as the metal conforms to the die on the bender.

  • Mandrel bent pipes keep the same internal diameter through out the bend.

  • Cajun offer both type bends with its aluminized steel pipes having been crush bent and stainless pipes are mandrel bent.

  • Both pipes perform great and the bends are only 20* and 10* on each pipe.

  • Therefore the actual crush bend is not that great of a reduction in the ID of the aluminized pipes.

WHAT CONVERTERS DOES CAJUN B-PIPES USE?

  • Cajun B-Pipes uses Canamex OBD2 spun converters made in the USA.

  • These are very high quality cats from a reputable company and fit nicely with the Titan/Armada.

WILL CAJUNS CAUSE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT?

  • If your truck has the stock manifolds in place with intact primary cats your Titan should not have any codes with test pipes or catted b-pipes.

  • If you run longtube headers and test pipes b-pipes there will be a code but my catted b-pipes will prevent a CEL.

WILL CAJUN B-PIPES WORK WITH SHORTY STYLE HEADERS?

  • No only longtube headers and stock manifolds.  Will work with Vband style shorties.

  • Shorty headers require  Fabrication work and welding to properly mate up to the b-pipes.

HOW HARD ARE B-PIPES TO INSTALL?

  • B-Pipes can be installed in less than a hour with simple tools like a 14mm wrench/socket, small screwdriver, and an O2 sensor tool or large crescent wrench.

  • I recommend removing the O2 sensors after the B-Pipes have been removed from the truck and placed in a vise.

  • Be very careful with the sensors as they are damaged very easily.

WHAT GASKETS SHOULD BE USED WITH MY B-PIPES?

  • I recommend OEM Nissan #20692-65J00 stacked metal gaskets on the front and rear flanges of the B-Pipes.

  • These gaskets are reusable and provide the best seal available.

WILL I GET DRONE OR CIS (CARD IN SPOKE) SOUND?

  • Unfortunately the VK56 used in the Titan/Armada is very sensitive to exhaust changes.

  • The firing order of the engine is believed to cause these unwanted tones in the exhaust.

  • Test pipes B-Pipes with headers will likely have drone and CIS, just nature of the beast.

  • There are "proven" mufflers and exhaust systems out there that will decrease or eliminate these unwanted sounds.

  • Muffler selection has a lot to do with it:  Borla, JBA, and Gibson exhaust systems are proven mufflers on the Titan/Armada.

  • The Ultraquiet Resonator by Vibrant Exhaust is a proven devise to help eliminate drone and CIS.

IS IT NECESSARY TO GET TUNED POST CAJUN B-PIPE INSTALL?

  • ​Cajun B-Pipes alone WILL NOT require a tune although if you install aftermarket headers on your Titan or Armada  keep in mind a custom tune may be required or engine damage could occur.

  • Flex fuel Titans may get by without a custom tune but still need the AFR's checked to be safe, non flex fuel Titans will likely need a custom tune to prevent engine damage.

RETURNS AND WARRANTY OF CAJUN B-PIPES?

  • Cajun B-Pipes warranties any defects in the welds, flanges, or sensor bungs for life of the truck to the original purchaser.  Shipping is customers responsibility returns and warranty. 20% restock fee on returns

  • The cats/resonators  are warrantied by the manufacturer and not Cajun B-Pipes.

  • All paper work for the Cats will be provided with the purchase.  

COMMON COMPONENT ISSUES THAT CAN CAUSE CONVERTER FAILURE. (UNTUNED POST-HEADER INSTALL).

  • Intake leak

  • Exhaust leak

  • Fuel Injector leakage

  • Defective front O2 sensor

  • Defective Mass Air Flow Meter (MAF)

  • Defective Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT)

  • Defective Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP)

FOLLOWING ARE THE MORE COMMON CONTAMINANTS THAT WILL AFFECT O2 AND CONVERTER PERFORMANCE:

  • Oil – bad rings or valve seals

  • Sulfur – found in some low quality gasoline

  • Silicone – found in most gasket sealants unless marked “O2 sensor safe”

  • Coolant – damaged head gaskets or Intake plenums
